Steve Austin Says WWE Hasn’t Contacted Him For WrestleMania 41

Steve Austin Says WWE Hasn’t Contacted Him For WrestleMania 41

WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin has weighed in on John Cena’s shocking heel turn at Elimination Chamber, where he aligned with The Rock and brutally attacked Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
Speaking with The Schmo, Austin praised the move and acknowledged its significance in building toward WrestleMania 41.
On Cena’s Heel Turn:
“Hey, that happened. Sooner or later. Finally, it happened. So it’ll be interesting to see. You know whether the people accept him, accept him as a heel, or has he turned himself more babyface? I think it remains to be seen as the story unfolds. But nonetheless, they’ve kicked off an epic build into WrestleMania. And that’s what they do every single year. And this year, it’s here in Las Vegas, so it’s gonna be pretty damn awesome.”
Austin, like many fans, is curious to see how audiences react to Cena’s drastic character shift and how WWE will develop the storyline leading into WrestleMania 41.
With Cena now fully embracing his heel persona, speculation has grown over whether Cody Rhodes will receive backup from a legend. Some fans have even suggested that Austin could step in to even the odds. However, Austin shut down those rumors, stating that WWE has not contacted him about making an appearance at WrestleMania 41.
On Whether He’ll Be Helping Rhodes at WrestleMania:
“Hey, I haven’t been in contact with anybody, so I guess anything could happen. But I’m here to run the Mint 400, and that’s what my sights are set on. I’m not looking to Mania. I’m looking to the Mint 400. I got a brand new left knee, trying here—this is my first race back. So I’m gonna go out there and kick ass and see if I can do as well as I can.”
While Austin isn’t ruling out an appearance, his focus remains on competing in the Mint 400 off-road race, marking his first time back in action since undergoing knee surgery.
With WrestleMania 41 just weeks away, WWE has plenty of time to add unexpected elements to the Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena feud. Whether or not Austin gets involved, he’ll be watching the storyline unfold like the rest of the WWE Universe.
